The Enemies Of Doctor Who – Part 1: The Daleks

When you get about as much as Doctor Who does, it’s inevitable that not all the people or creatures he encounters are going to become friends. In fact Doctor who has made a fair few enemies along the way. Over the coming weeks we are going to go through each of the Doctors main villains one by one. Today we start things off with the nastiest of them all. The Daleks of course.

Descended from the kaleds, they mutated into what they are now from the after effects of radiation released from a neutron war against the Thals. The evil Davros then genetically engineered them. The time lords started to believe that the Daleks would eventually take over time and space itself and sent the Doctor back in time in order to stop their creation. This attempt triggered off the time war, which resulted in the destruction of the Doctor’s home planet Gallifrey. The Doctor thought that the Daleks were destroyed in the explosion. Unfortunately one survived and bred a new race of Daleks determined to continue the work of their predecessors. Not good news for the doctor. The rest is history.
