James Cameron’s Avatar Preview

After 12 years out of the directors chair, “Terminator 2 Judgement day” Director James Cameron is about to make a big budget return to our cinema screens this Christmas, with his new movie Avatar. We can’t really tell you much about this movie because the movie studio is keeping the lid on this one very tightly. Terminator Salvation star Sam Worthington who stars in the move said in a recent interview that he was sworn to secrecy about Avatars storyline. We will have to see how this one unfolds over the coming months. We expect it to be a massive blockbuster.

What we do know is that Avatar is based around the story of a wounded ex soldier who is unintentionally caught up in an effort to troubleshoot a far away planet rich in bio diversity, but instead leads the indigenous race in the ultimate battle for survival.

Avatar will be filmed using a new revolutionary 3D camera technology developed by Cameron’s own team.

James Cameron certainly has a great track record to his name with movies like The Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss and Terminator 2 Judgement day under his belt. His last film was of course Titanic. Since then he has took a few years off from directing to concentrate on underwater movies such as the IMAX film “Ghosts Of The Abyss” as well a creating new camera technologies.

There is certainly a buzz-surrounding Avatar. Mattel toys have already secured the toys and memorabilia licence for it with action figures set to hit the shelves this autumn.

Really looking forward to this one!
